I love bags. Out of all the things that a woman can love - shoes, clothes, jewelry, make up... bags have been my favorite thing to buy since I was a teen (jewelry is pretty up there too but I can only wear gold because of my metal allergy, so I try not to like it too much). My mom used to tease me a lot that I could open my own shop with all my bags. I don't buy that many bags anymore because I'm growing to appreciate quality over quantity, so I just have a few bags that I use over and over until they fall apart.
This past summer, I saw a knitted bag at a store and got inspired to make one myself because I didn't quite like the colors and it was overpriced. That's how I end up making things - when I can't find the exact thing I'm looking for or things I like are overpriced.
I saw a picture of this bag online and loved it but couldn't find the pattern anywhere so I just figured it out on my own (using a grid paper on photoshop). I started it in May and finished it last month, now I have to wait till summer to use it... :'( Knowing my schedule, next time I wanna make a summer bag I should start in the winter and vise versa. :P
