I decided to make the needle cushion thingamajig I've been seeing on Pinterest because I kept misplacing my needle (eek that's not good!). All you need is a jar with the weird cap, some fabric, glue gun, scissors, and Donkey Kong (?) for moral support.
[what a mess to make something so simple.]
The blogger said it should only take 10 minutes, but due to my spirit of excellence, it only took me about an hour.

Then I cross-stitched for a bit. I started cross stitching in high school and stopped for a while, but I recently picked it back up, especially after our visit home (Virginia) earlier this year. At my hubby's house, there is a wall full of cross-stitch frames - of John-Michael's birth certificate, different quotes, and gifts from friends... including this one Mom (my mother-in-law) made with memories of their first ten years of marriage.

I loved the idea and decided to do one of our recent trip.
[biking around everywhere, Miffy and bed & breakfast we stayed in Bruges]
Mom gave me her cross-stitch patterns and hoops, and I'm using one of them for this pattern... and something about it makes me feel cozy, and at home. I love the thought that I got Mom's craft tools handed down and I'm doing what she used to do. Maybe my daughter would like cross-stitching too? As I'm getting older and thinking about my own family in the future, I'm starting to cherish family traditions more and more. John-Michael saw my needle cushion thingamajig and said, "My mom used to have that too!" and I thought, "wait a second... Pinterest is not the original?!"
Oh wow! I can't wait to see the final product! Love the blog, Sky! Keep it up!
