/// P A I N T I N G

It's been the rainiest rainy season in Korea for the past few weeks, according to my hubby who's been living here for the past 7 summers. So whenever I saw some sunlight come through the clouds I ran out to my veranda to finish painting these guys I started... a few weeks ago.

[victims of the day]

Most of our furniture is dark brown color, so I grabbed a whole bunch of stuff to paint them white; including my ugly pink make up holder (pink is my least favorite color, no offense to my pink lovers out there) from Daiso, a picture frame that looks pretty decent on this photo but not in real life, and a flower basket I keep my random things in.

When I started putting primer on them I slowly began regretting... (maybe I should've left it brown! this primer makes them look baaad!) but I realized I was at a point of no return. And something in me said, "It's just in the process of becoming something great, you'll never get to see what it could've become if you stop here!" That was quite a revelation.

So I kept painting...

and I think they look pretty cute!

The jewelry box turned out to be a bigger project than I thought, so I'm putting that one on hold until I buy some sand paper. But this spice rack turned out pretty well - it's my favorite. It was originally being used to display my trinkets and polaroid photos, but I thought it would be more resourceful as a spice + recipe rack for our new home. I think the glass jars will be my next project; I need to clean 'em up and spray paint the lids.

So, that was my fun and long first painting experience.

Speaking of painting...

[a small act of kindness can be a doorway to heaven for someone]

This is obviously not that kind of painting, but it's a recent painting I did of Matthew 10:42 - "And if anyone gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward." In the beginning of this year, I made drawings of Bible verses as a daily devotional (you can see some of them here) and I was requested to do one on Matthew 10:42 a while back. I finally got to it last month, and I like how it turned out! :)
